About this gift
Count every recitation with a 108 bead mala, a gemstone mala for mantra chanting and japa. Anyone who repeats a mantra or a deity's name has a use for it, and it makes a thoughtful gift for a friend who meditates.
Each of the 108 beads is about 0.6 to 0.8 cm in size, and the mala is about 60 to 80 cm long. The beads are natural gemstone, so each one's size and length can vary a little. Traditionally the mala is held in the right hand: the thumb moves one bead at a time, the strand drapes over the middle finger, and the index finger is kept off the beads, as it represents the ego.
Sending a mala for Christmas, a birthday or a thank you suits anyone who chants. Choose this mala and give someone beads to count with.
