Key points

  • Aim for useful with a smile: something they'll use, with a bit of personality.
  • Mugs, socks and candles suit almost anyone at the office party.
  • Check the arrival day on each gift against the date of your party.
  • Order by noon on Thursday 17 December for same-day dispatch gifts to arrive before Christmas.

What are good Secret Santa gifts for anyone?

When you don't know the person well, choose something everyone uses with a bit of character. A novelty mug or a mug and socks set gets used every day, and most come boxed, ready to hand over.

What are funny Secret Santa gifts that won't offend?

Gentle humour works best in a mixed group. A birthday-joke candle or a frog-shaped mug raises a laugh without making anyone uncomfortable.

What if they love books?

Bookish gifts are a safe bet for readers: a book-shaped mug or vase, or a mug and socks set for a reading night.
