How to run it

It's the same game, just with the post doing the handing over.

  • Create a group and share the link in your team chat or family WhatsApp.
  • Everyone adds a wishlist, likes and sizes, so nobody buys blind.
  • Draw names: each person sees only their own person.
  • Send the gift to your person's address with a free e-card carrying your message (unsigned, if you like).
  • Book a video call for the swap and open the presents together.

Getting the timing right

Post takes time, so draw names two to three weeks before the call. Every gift in our shop shows the day it should arrive, and we email your group a reminder on the last day to order in time.

Pick gifts that travel well: mugs, socks, candles, notebooks and treats all post easily.

Keeping the mystery online

Leave your name off the e-card, or sign it "your Secret Santa". On the call, everyone guesses before the reveal opens at the end of the day.

More on Secret Santa

How do you do Secret Santa remotely?

Draw names online, share wishlists, post each gift to your person's home, then open them together on a video call. Our generator does the draw, wishlists and reminders for free.

How do I get my person's address?

Ask your organiser, or ask a mutual friend on the quiet. Then send the gift from our shop with a free e-card, and keep your name off it.

When should a virtual Secret Santa draw names?

Two to three weeks before the call, so every gift has time to arrive. Each gift in our shop shows its arrival date.
